Elevator Technology: The Latest Advancements in Vertical Transportation.

The presentation will briefly review the history of elevator technology and what is available today, giving attendees a clear understanding of the different types of technologies and the drawbacks vs. benefits of each type.

The presentation will specifically discuss the machine room-less elevator solution which removes the machine room from the top or bottom of the building, providing design flexibility, maximizing leasable floor space and minimizing construction costs. This solution, which is environmentally friendly,  requires 1/3 of the energy of a typical hydraulic elevator, can contribute to LEED credits, and - unlike a hydraulic system - there is no need to drill a cylinder hole which presents the risk of oil contaminates.

Also included in the oral presentation will be comments about editing ARCOM Masterspec Section 14 21 23.16 "Machine Room-Less Electric Traction Passenger Elevators".
